Overview

TraderSpy Technical Analysis

This skill produces a single-coin chart read from TraderSpy technical indicators and optional derivatives data. It combines multi-timeframe structure, momentum, volatility, support and resistance, and positioning without executing trades. Use it for chart, trend, indicator, funding, open-interest, price, or candle questions about one coin. Multi-coin scanning and tracked-trader research use related skills.

What it does

TraderSpy Technical Analysis organizes a chart read around price structure, momentum and volatility, then derivatives positioning. A multi-timeframe technical request consumes one quota unit; adding derivatives makes two calls. The workflow chooses indicators for the user's question rather than requesting every available indicator.

Typical broad analysis uses one-hour, four-hour, and daily views, while an intraday request can use shorter intervals. RSI, MACD, EMA, and Bollinger bands cover a default momentum and trend read. Levels and pivots support questions about support, resistance, entries, or targets. ATR adds volatility and stop-distance context, ADX adds trend strength, Supertrend adds trend state, and OBV or MFI adds volume confirmation. User-specified periods use documented settings keys.

The response has different shapes for one versus several timeframes. Multiple views return individual timeframe data plus a confluence assessment; the top-level price and interval describe only the first view. Settings identify what was computed, while warnings expose missing or thinned data. Indicator fields include current and previous values, direction, recent series, and indicator-specific states such as zones, crossings, EMA stack, or divergence. Insufficient-data values remain unavailable instead of being estimated.

The summary uses a fixed indicator set regardless of requested extras, preserving comparability between calls. Its bias, trend, momentum, volatility, volume, patterns, and explanatory notes form the answer's structure. Confluence is aligned only when every timeframe with data agrees on a non-neutral bias. Mixed views are reported explicitly instead of being flattened into one direction.

When to use - and when NOT to

Use the skill for a coin's trend, chart, momentum, support and resistance, moving-average levels, funding, open interest, price, or candle data. A multi-timeframe request can be:

Analyse BTC on the 1h, 4h and 1d with funding and open interest.

Scanning many coins by conditions belongs to market-screener, and tracked whale positions belong to smart-money. Raw candles are retrieved for charting, export, or custom computation rather than recreating indicators already supplied by the technical tool.

Indicators describe past bars, not assured future outcomes. An entry question receives supporting and opposing evidence plus invalidation conditions, while trade choice, size, and leverage stay with the user.

Inputs and outputs

Inputs include a Binance-style symbol, up to three intervals, selected indicators and periods, and optional history. Levels include nearby swings, distance percentages, range position, Fibonacci context, and volume-profile information. Pivots use the preceding daily candle. Derivatives add funding labels and annualized rates, open-interest regime, top-trader position ratio, and recent taker flow.

The output starts with symbol, price, and read time, then per-timeframe numerical labels, confluence, a levels table, optional derivatives context, and readings that would change the assessment. Period and direction remain visible; prices retain returned precision. Missing coverage is checked through tracked-symbol discovery only when necessary.

get_technical_indicators accepts up to three intervals, 19 indicators and history 0-20. The indicator set includes both EMA and SMA. get_derivatives accepts five Binance perpetual symbols, get_price accepts 20, and get_candles accepts up to 500 OHLCV bars. get_tracked_symbols is a coverage check. Binance-style names include BTCUSDT and 1000PEPEUSDT, tokenized equities such as AAPLUSDT and SPYUSDT, and tracked Hyperliquid-only names. Intraday defaults are 15m/1h/4h; position framing uses 4h/1d with levels and pivots.

The fixed summary uses RSI 14, MACD, EMA 20/50/200, ADX 14, ATR 14, Bollinger 20/2, and volume 20. An absolute vote score at least 30 sets a bias. ATR percentile ranks volatility against the last 100 bars; volume ratio compares a possibly partial current bar with a 20-bar average. Eighteen candlestick finders add pattern notes rather than score. Levels select the nearest three on each side across 300 bars, with touches, Fibonacci retracement and volume-profile point of control and value-area edges.

RSI and Stochastic use below 30/above 70 and below 20/above 80 zones respectively. MACD distinguishes histogram sign and direction from a latest-bar crossing event. EMA/SMA stack and price position describe structure; distance from the 200 describes extension. Bollinger percentB outside 0-1 is beyond the bands; a TTM squeeze is Bollinger inside Keltner and does not determine expansion direction. ATR measures noise, ADX measures strength while DI gives direction, and OBV divergence relates price to volume. Rolling VWAP defaults to 48 bars. CCI uses beyond +100/-100, MFI beyond 20/80, Williams R beyond -80/-20, and ROC shows period percentage change. Supertrend distinguishes state from flips and barsSinceFlip. Ichimoku combines price/cloud, future-cloud color and TK crossing; Keltner uses EMA plus or minus ATR times its multiplier. Pivots always use the previous daily candle.

Derivatives snapshots are cached for 60 seconds and unknown symbols return an error. Funding uses eight-hour rates: longs pay at +0.03% and extreme longs at +0.10%, shorts at -0.01% and extreme shorts at -0.05%, with a +0.01% baseline. annualizedPct and avg24hPct/avg3dPct retain rate context and nextFundingTime identifies settlement. OI regimes require at least 1% OI and 0.5% price movement over 24h: both rising means new longs, falling OI with rising price means short covering, rising OI with falling price means new shorts, and both falling means long liquidation. Smaller changes are flat. Top-trader ratios at least 1.5 are long-heavy and at most 0.67 short-heavy; global ratios represent the broader crowd. markPrice, indexPrice and premiumPct show price premium, and last-hour takerBuySellRatio shows aggressor flow. Chart, positioning and funding can disagree; explain the difference rather than flattening it into a signal.

Integrations

The hosted endpoint is https://mcp.traderspy.app/mcp over Streamable HTTP. Connect it in the client and authorize with OAuth or a personal key from https://traderspy.app/mcp. A free account is sufficient. Daily tool limits are 300 calls on the free tier and 5,000 on premium. Without the server connection, this skill has no live market data.
