Overview
since-cutoff: dependency API changes after the model's training cutoff
Scan used dependency APIs and optionally record evidence-tagged notes. Use when pinned libraries differ from cutoff-era APIs.
What it does
Since-Cutoff API Scan runs the MIT-licensed since-cutoff CLI, pinned to release 0.4.1. For each pinned dependency it compares the latest release on or before the model cutoff with the project’s pinned release.
When to use - and when NOT to
Use it when dependency versions have moved beyond APIs learned at a training cutoff. The comparison uses static griffe analysis; it does not execute package code.
Inputs and outputs
The scan uses pinned dependencies and reports changed public APIs actually used by the project, naming the files that use them. With user agreement, it writes short evidence-tagged notes, such as [diff], into AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md.
Integrations
The CLI is distributed through PyPI as since-cutoff. Its scan command makes no model calls and needs no API key. The adapted upstream skill retains the MIT license.
Source README
A coding model learns each library's API as it was at its training cutoff, but the project's lockfile keeps moving. This skill runs the since-cutoff CLI (MIT, PyPI since-cutoff, pinned here to release 0.4.1). For each pinned dependency, the CLI takes the latest release on or before the model's cutoff and compares that release's public API with the pinned release. The comparison is static (griffe), so no package code runs. It then reports the changed APIs that the project's code uses, with the files that use them. If the user agrees, it writes short notes into AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md, each tagged with the evidence behind it (for example [diff]). scan makes no model calls and needs no API key. This adapts the upstream skill under its MIT license.
