Setup requires a 6figr.com account, an API key generated from the account's MCP Integrations section (prefixed mcp_), and adding the MCP server - either via claude mcp add jobgpt -t http -u https://mcp.6figr.com/mcp --header "Authorization: <api-key>" for Claude Code, or npx jobgpt-mcp-server with a JOBGPT_API_KEY environment variable for other tools.

Core workflows: job search uses search_jobs with filters like title, location, salary, remote status, and H1B sponsorship, presenting results with company/title/location/salary/key skills. Auto-apply checks the resume is uploaded, finds new matches via match_jobs, saves selected matches via add_job_to_applications, triggers apply_to_job per application, and monitors progress with get_application_stats.
