Overview
Brand Kit & Print Collateral
This skill recommends a small collateral set and creates a collateral register when requested. Its key rule keeps finished size and trim size separate, alongside distinct color-mode, stock-weight, and finish decisions. Use it when planning a business's print collateral and the specifications a printer needs before production. The default output is a recommendation rather than layout files.
What it does
Brand Kit and Print Collateral works out the smallest useful collateral set for the business, then builds it only when asked. Its default output is a short recommendation rather than a set of layout files. On request, it produces a collateral register as CSV, SQL DDL, JSON Schema, or Notion mapping, with all four formats derived from one field list.
When to use - and when NOT to
Use it to define print collateral and keep production specifications explicit before a job starts. A recommendation alone should not be treated as delivered layout files.
Inputs and outputs
The register separates finished size from trim size. The register treats finished size as the size to cut and trim size as finished size plus bleed on every edge. Keeping both in separate columns makes that distinction visible rather than leaving it to assumption.
Color mode, stock weight, and finish are also separate decisions. These are specifications the printer needs before starting the job, and changing them after production starts is not an available correction. Requested register formats preserve the same field definitions across outputs.
Source README
Works out the smallest useful collateral set for the business in front of it, then builds it
only when asked. The default output is a short recommendation, not a set of layout files.
The collateral register - CSV, SQL DDL, JSON Schema, Notion mapping - is produced on
request, from one field list so the four cannot drift apart.
The rule this table exists to enforce: the finished size and the trim size are
different things, and a designer who forgets the difference pays for the reprint. The
finished size is what gets cut; the trim size is finished size plus bleed on every edge.
The table keeps them in separate columns for exactly that reason, and the same logic
separates colour mode, stock weight and finish - three decisions a printer asks about
before a job starts, and three that cannot be changed after it starts.
