Overview

Audit Preparation

This skill recommends a small audit-file preparation setup and builds requested artifacts from one field list. It organizes documents and visible answers to queries and adjustments, without performing audit work or issuing an opinion. Use it to prepare the document file for an audit. Financial-statement testing and an audit opinion remain the qualified auditor's responsibility.

What it does

Audit Preparation recommends the smallest useful setup for assembling an audit file, then builds it only when requested. Its default response is a short recommendation rather than a spreadsheet. Requested CSV, SQL DDL, JSON Schema, and Notion mapping outputs share one field list to keep their definitions consistent.

The work is document organization: make sure the required audit-file sections exist, request each document, track its receipt, and file it in one place. Queries and adjustments raised during preparation need visible answers rather than disappearing into separate exchanges.

When to use - and when NOT to

Use it to prepare and organize the file that supports an audit. The skill does not perform the audit, test financial information, or produce an opinion on financial statements. Those activities belong to a qualified auditor after their own work.

Inputs and outputs

The setup concerns audit documents, their request and receipt progress, and answers to queries or adjustments. Permanent documents and tax filings require current originals that are verified and dated. A lapsed registration certificate, unrenewed licence, or portal screenshot standing in for a filed return should not be treated as a present, current original. Copies of copies do not satisfy this rule.

Requested artifacts express the preparation structure; they do not turn document collection into audit assurance.

Source README

Works out the smallest useful Audit Preparation setup for the business in front of it, then
builds it only when asked. The default output is a short recommendation, not a
spreadsheet. Artifacts - CSV, SQL DDL, JSON Schema, Notion mapping - are produced on
request, from one field list so they cannot drift apart.

Be clear about what this is. It assembles the file. It does not perform the audit, it
does not test anything, and it produces no opinion on the financial statements - only a
qualified auditor can do that, and only after doing work this skill has no part in. What
it does is make sure the ten sections of the audit file exist, that each document is
requested, received, tracked and filed in one place, and that every query and adjustment
raised along the way has a visible answer.

One rule that causes most of the trouble at year end: permanent documents and tax filings
need current originals, not copies of copies. A registration certificate that lapsed, a
licence that was never renewed, a return filed only as a screenshot of a portal - each one
turns into an avoidable exception. Current originals, verified and dated, or the document
is not there.
