Overview

MCPHub MCP Server

MCPHub Desktop is a GUI application for installing, configuring, and managing MCP servers, including one-click dependency installation for Node.js and uv. It's built to make MCP servers accessible without any command-line experience. Use it when installing or managing MCP servers for Claude through a graphical interface instead of manual config editing. Support for MCP clients beyond Claude is still on the roadmap.

What it does

MCPHub Desktop is a graphical installer, manager, and directory for Model Context Protocol servers. It detects and installs Node.js and uv (Python) dependencies with one click, lets you browse and install community MCP servers, configure their required environment variables through a simple GUI, and uninstall servers you no longer need - all without touching a command line.

When to use - and when NOT to

Use it when you or someone you're helping (a non-developer, for instance) wants to add MCP servers to a client like Claude without editing JSON config files or running install commands manually. It's designed explicitly to make MCP servers accessible to people without CLI experience, and supports sharing with others who want the same ease of use. Do not use it if you need fine-grained scripted or automated installs (e.g., in CI) - it's a manual, GUI-driven desktop tool, and support for clients beyond Claude is still on the roadmap.

Capabilities

  • Detects required dependencies, including Node.js and uv (Python).
  • Installs missing dependencies with one click.
  • Browses the latest MCP servers available from the community directory.
  • Installs any listed server with one click.
  • Configures and manages a server's required environment variables through a simple GUI.
  • Uninstalls unwanted servers with one click.
  • Supports custom command-line arguments (e.g., file and directory paths) for servers that need them.
  • Manages MCP server configuration for the Claude client, with support for additional clients planned.

How to install

MCPHub Desktop is a desktop GUI application; install servers into it by browsing the built-in directory and clicking install, with dependency detection and installation handled automatically. To contribute a new server to the community directory, submit a pull request to the companion MCPHub Servers repository at github.com/Jeamee/mcp-servers.

Who it's for

Non-developers and casual AI users who want to add MCP servers to Claude without any command-line experience, as well as anyone who wants to share an easy MCP setup process with friends or colleagues.
