Telegram

Telegram delivers Mesh notifications to the people on your team through a bot that belongs to your workspace.

What it does

  • Connects a Telegram bot to the workspace using its bot token.
  • Lets each person link their own Telegram account by sending /start to the bot, so notifications reach the right person and nobody else.
  • Delivers task events (assignments, comments, status changes) as Telegram messages.

Where it is configured

An administrator can enable Telegram for the whole instance, and each workspace sets its own bot. There are no project-level settings: people choose what they receive, the project does not. The bot token is a secret, stored encrypted and never displayed after saving.

Permissions

No access to the Mesh API beyond delivering notifications. Network access only to api.telegram.org, for getUpdates, sendMessage and getMe.

Install

Telegram is built into Mesh. Nothing to download: turn it on in Extensions, create a bot with BotFather, paste its token into the workspace settings and ask the team to press /start. Updates come with Mesh.
